Drinking water not meeting requirements

Celina's chances of meeting its EPA-mandated deadline to fix the city's water have all but evaporated, although city officials still won't admit it.

MINSTER -The famed Budweiser Clydesdales will be heading to Auglaize County for the 33rd Minster Oktoberfest. The festival, which salutes the area's proud German heritage, takes place Oct. 5-7.
This marks the fifth time a six-horse hitch has come for the event, the last appearance taking place in 1999. Requests have been made during the ensuing years, but a Minster stop never showed up on the schedule. [More]

Celina city officials have finalized a plan for paying off the estimated $6.3 million in debt on an upcoming water treatment improvement project, but still have not awarded a contract for the work.
Beer sales at the just completed Mercer County Banner Fair went off without a hitch, fair organizers and law enforcement authorities said this morning.
COLDWATER - Lower than anticipated bids for the village's street and alley paving project may allow the village to "squeeze in a couple more alleys," Village Manager-Engineer Eric Thomas said at Monday's council meeting.
ST. MARYS - Council members moved the downtown canal area project along Monday night by passing some necessary legislation.
An ordinance will rezone a 1.8 acre tract around the Miami & Erie Canal near the former Cotton Mill from industrial district to central commercial district.
