Contractors work on "the great wall" shoring up the east side of what would have been the towpath at Lock 13 of the Miami & Erie Canal in downtown St. Marys. Grand Lake St. Marys State Park likely will take over management of the 250-mile Miami and Erie Canal as part of a proposal to merge the canal lands program into the Division of Parks and Recreation.
