MARIA STEIN - Many of the statues and crucifixes at the Maria Stein Center are the artwork of the early sisters who lived and worked in the late 1800's in the motherhouse of the Sisters of the Precious Blood.
Some statues are life sized and some are very small wax figures, which the sisters molded by hand. [More]

Motorcyclists, older drivers top the list of those killed in crashes
An unusually high number of young motorcyclists and mature drivers were killed on Grand Lake roadways in 2009 and troopers plan to do something about it.
Charges are pending against a Coldwater man in connection with a Dec. 26 burglary at an outbuilding along state Route 219 near U.S. 127.
Jeffrey C. Marbaugh, 40, 502 W. Plum St., is believed to be the person who brought stolen copper wire from the location to Ohio Recycling Inc. near Chickasaw.
