CELINA - Celina City Council is objecting to the renewal of the liquor license for Club Oasis, 201 S. Main St., due to regular occurrences of disorderly conduct at the bar according to city officials.
All council members, except Angie King, voted yes to a resolution that asks the Division of Liquor Control to reject the application to renew the liquor permit. King abstained from the vote, saying her husband's company does work for the owner, Christopher T. Wendel Enterprises LLC. [More]

ROCKFORD - The Parkway Panthers got a great pitching performance from senior Emily Crowell and some timely two-out hits to defeat the Marion Local Flyers 6-1 in Midwest Athletic Conference softball play Thursday afternoon at Parkway High School.
The Panthers remain undefeated in conference play at 4-0 with the win and they improve to 8-6 overall. Marion Local falls to 2-1 in the MAC and 8-8 on the year. [More]

VERSAILLES - An area man was killed in a farm-related accident on Thursday in Darke County.
Nicholas L. Grillot, 64, 11592 Reed Road, Osgood, died at the scene of the accident at 8606 Hager Road, near Versailles.

Grand Lake Task Force, sheriff dept. make drug roundup
WAPAKONETA - The Grand Lake Task Force and the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office rounded up 12 drug suspects Wednesday afternoon stemming from a six-month investigation.
CELINA - The Auglaize & Mercer Counties Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) named the Celina Lake Festival Committee as recipient of the Stahr Award. The announcement was made during the annual CVB luncheon held Thursday at Wright State University-Lake Campus.
COLDWATER - Two new programs aimed at bringing faster and improved treatment to heart and stroke victims are being implemented at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
ST. MARYS - Erika Thornsberry has led the St. Marys softball team with her arm and her bat all season long and Thursday afternoon was no different.
Thornsberry pitched a two-hit shutout and also blasted a home run while leading St. Marys to a 5-0 win over Coldwater at K.C. Geiger Park.
CELINA - Caleb Shreves allowed one unearned run without giving up a hit and Celina broke the game open with a seven-run second inning to knock off Fort Recovery 11-1 in five innings on Thursday afternoon at Montgomery Field.
