Bulldogs earn 4-1 victory on the road over Sidney

Celina opened the boys tennis season with a 4-1 win at Sidney on Monday.
The Bulldogs won two of the three singles matches. Alex Seibel won 6-1, 6-2 at first singles and Aaron Seibel earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles.
Celina's Isaac Elston and Kris LeJeune teamed to win first doubles 6-1, 6-0 and the Bulldogs' duo of Hagan Kriegel and Joel Weitz won in second doubles 6-1, 6-2.
Celina opens home action at the Booster Club Courts today against Lima Central Catholic.

SOFTBALL
New Bremen 5, Bradford 4
The game was moved to Bradford, but the Cardinals still opened their season with a one-run win over the Railroaders.
New Bremen scored twice in the first inning and added two more runs in the third frame before plating an insurance run in the fifth inning, which proved to be big after Bradford scored two runs in the sixth to pull within one run.
Haley Moeller hit a two-run home run and scored three times for the Cardinals while Caitlyn Everhart and Julie Brown each went 2-for-3 with a double.

Franklin-Monroe 13, Fort Recovery 7
Franklin-Monroe scored 12 runs combined in the first three innings to take a 12-2 lead and Fort Recovery was unable to dig out of the early hole.
Jackie Fullenkamp had two triples for Fort Recovery while Chelsea Timmerman and Haley Knapke each added two hits with Knapke driving in three runs.

Marion Local 12, Greenville 4
Dustin Seitz scattered seven hits over seven innings on the mound to give the Flyers their second win of the season.
Marion Local scored four runs in the first inning and added three more in the second frame to pull away.
Aaron Nietfeld went 4-for-4 with a triple to pace the Flyers' offense while Troy Homan added a 3-for-5 showing at the plate. Jordan Rethman, Kyle Mescher, Dustin Rethman and Blake Benton each added two hits for the Flyers.

The Cardinals were limited to three hits and they were run-ruled by the Railroaders in a five-inning shutout.
Bradford put the game out of reach with five runs in the third inning and eight more in the fourth frame.
