Euaea Contreras holds a day-old chick on Thursday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. The chicks will be raised over the summer by children in the Ripple Program, which seeks to teach at-risk youth about responsibility through agriculture. Contreras, who isn't involved with the program, came out to help on Thursday.
