FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery High School softball head coach Esther Stephen and Assistant Coach Shelby Hiestand were arrested recently by Jay County Sheriff's Office personnel in Indiana.

MARIA STEIN - School board members accepted a $47,000 donation from the Marion Local parent-teacher organization on Monday evening to help build a new elementary school playground.
Elementary school principal Nick Wilker said the PTO had been saving for a few years to fund the donation. [More]

ST. HENRY - On Jan. 4, St. Henry girls basketball coaches Kyle and Bill Menchhofer took a detour to Red Lobster in Piqua on their way to scout Franklin Monroe.
A win over the Jets tasted a little better than that meal.

The yearly bridge inspections of Mercer County's 379 bridges on township and county roads have been completed.
Mercer County Engineer Jim Wiechart and County Bridge Supervisor T.J. Smalley completed the inspections before the end of 2019.
