Flyers boys win first title in 27 years, Minster girls repeat

MINSTER - The Marion Local boys track and field team came into Day 2 of the Midwest Athletic Conference championships with a 24 1/2-point lead, but coach Kyle Grabowski didn't consider it safe.
Minster made a run in the track finals, whittling the lead down to 11 1/2 points, but the Flyers held on for their first MAC boys title since 1995, while the host Wildcats took the girls title over Coldwater and Versailles at Memorial Field on Friday. [More]

ST. MARYS - For the second time this season the Celina softball team was unable to solve St. Marys pitcher Karsyn McGlothen.
Back in early April, McGlothen hurled a four-hit, 11-strikeout, 7-0 shutout against the Bulldogs in the regular season.
Friday evening in the Division II sectional final at K.C. Geiger Park in St. Marys, McGlothen allowed just three hits and struck out 10 as the Roughriders advanced with a 2-0 victory over Celina. [More]

COLDWATER - Two Coldwater men were arrested Friday morning on fifth-degree felony drug possession charges.
Zachary Frazier, 31, and Alan Bricher, 29, were taken into custody without incident, according to a news release from Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey.
