WAPAKONETA - The Auglaize County Sheriffs office is seeking a $250,000 state grant for an armored vehicle to provide additional protection at active crime scenes involving a weapon.
If approved, officials want to buy a $316,723 Lenco Bearcat Armored Tactical Vehicle with help from a $250,000 State Homeland Security Grant through the Ohio Emergency Management Agency. [More]

MARIA STEIN - When they head to the polls on Nov. 8, voters in the Marion Local School District will be asked to approve the renewal of a 9-mill, 5-year emergency levy.
The current emergency levy is for 10 mills, but school treasurer Amy Reineke said the levy has been reduced to 9 mills because of an increase in the district valuation. The cost of the levy to the owner of a $100,000 home would be $315 per year. [More]

An Ohio constitutional amendment seeking bail reform will be on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.
Ohio Issue 1, proposed by joint resolution of the General Assembly, would require courts to consider factors such as public safety when setting bail amounts. [More]
