The current Fort Recovery monument was built in 1912. The memorial, now located across from the high school, was erected to commemorate the soldiers who were slain in two conflicts of the Northwest Territory, the defeat of Arthur St. Clair (1791) and the victory of Anthony Wayne (1794).
