| Van Gipson of Celina, who has been serving with the Marines, speaks Thursday to middle and high school students who attend the opportunities program at the Mercer County Alternative School. Gipson, who graduated from the opportunities program in 2000, told students about the fighting he experienced in Iraq and about guarding the al-Qaida prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was home on leave, but left today for Maryland where he will serve on guard duty. |
