By Timothy Cox tcox@dailystandard.com Charges have been filed against two adults and a juvenile suspected of involvement in the March 30 drive-by shooting incident in a Celina residential neighborhood. A fourth suspect, a juvenile male, is alleged to have been in the car with the three others who were codeged but no codeges have yet been filed. Jeremiah W. Larson, 21, 6011Ú2 W. Wayne St., Celina, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in an unrelated case. He was then codeged with felonious assault in connection with the shooting that occurred near the intersection of Touvelle and Sugar streets. Craig. A. Elliott, 20, 601 W. Wayne St., Celina, was codeged with obstructing justice in connection with alleged false statements he gave to officers investigating the shooting. A 16-year-old male also was arrested for an incident that occurred the same afternoon as the shooting. The youth allegedly punched a 17-year-old Celina student as he sat in a car in the former Big Bear parking lot on East Wayne Street. The 16-year-old is believed to have been an occupant of the vehicle from which shots were fired that same evening. Authorities have not released the juvenile’s name. The two adults are being held in the Mercer County Jail. The juvenile suspect is being held in the West Central Ohio Juvenile Detention Center in Troy. The investigation was launched after two boys ages 16 and 17 and two men ages 18 and 19 reported the car they were riding in March 30 was hit by gunfire. None of the occupants of the vehicle were injured. Investigators recovered three shell casings in the 700 block of North Sugar Street. Police Chief Dave Slusser has said he believes the shooters used a semi-automatic pistol and that the shooting appears to be related to the earlier altercation in the Big Bear parking lot. It is not clear where the suspects were apprehended or if authorities have recovered the gun. Slusser was unavailable for comment this morning. |
