2+1 = 3 eaglets found to be in the nest | ||||||||
| ||||||||
An adult American bald eagle perches in a tree near its nest this morning on the west shore of Grand Lake St. Marys in Mercer County. Wildlife officials recently discovered that there are three eaglets in the nest, not two as previously reported. The young eagles hatched around April 5. The Ohio Division of Wildlife is planning a June 8 event where the public can view the nest using provided spotting scopes from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mercer Wildlife Area, west of Montezuma, off Ohio 703.
