Big crowd for big band | ||||||||
| ||||||||
Several hundred people showed up at the tent-topped bandstand along Lakeshore Drive in Celina on Sunday evening to hear the West Ohio Big Band play classic swing and big band tunes. Listeners, who brought their own lawn chairs for the free concert, toe-tapped to classics such as "Satin Doll," "String of Pearls" and "Sentimental Journey," as well as a Latin bosso and an early Billy Joel tune. The concert was the first in a series of nine, scheduled for summer. The next concert is by The Mossburg Strings on June 13. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
