By From staff reports newsroom@dailystandard.com Coldwater went 2-1 in the tournament picking up wins over Tipp City and LCC while falling to Ben Logan.
In the first game, Coldwater scored three runs in the sixth inning and then held on for an 8-7 win over LCC. Just after LCC tied the game at 5-5 in the top of the sixth inning, Coldwater countered with a three-run inning to take an 8-5 lead. LCC rallied for two runs in the seventh inning but fell one run shy. Chad Geier picked up the win on the mound in 12/3 innings of relief. Chad Geier, Brady Geier and B.J. Heyne each had two hits for Coldwater while Chad Geier and Heyne each added two RBI. In Game Two, Ben Logan scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 5-4 victory. Brady Geier paced Coldwater at the plate with two hits while Matt Howell added two RBI. In the tournament finale, Coldwater got a strong effort from Howell on the mound while the offense collected 13 hits in an 11-2 Cavaliers victory. Howell went all seven innings allowing eight hits and striking out three. Brady Geier, Chad Geier, Ryan Gerlach and Kyle Schoenherr each had two-hit days for Coldwater. MONDAY'S GAMES Panthers sweep Indians Parkway improved to 12-5 on the season after taking a Monday night doubleheader from Fort Recovery at Fort Recovery. The Indians drop to 0-7 with the losses. In game one, Tim Shellabarger hit a double with two outs in the top of the seventh to score Ryan Berry and Matt High to give Parkway a 3-2 win. Tyler Brickley pitched a complete game three-hitter, walking four and striking out five, to get his first win in three decisions this summer. Brad Fortkamp took the loss. The Panthers stranded 11 runners of base in the game. High went 3-for-4 in the game. Shellabarger and Rikki Covarrubius each had two hits. In the nightcap, Parkway pitching kept the Indians scoreless until the seventh to take a 8-2 win. Trevor Krogman went the first five innings, allowing three hits and two walks to improve to 3-1 on the season. Steve Hays and Ian Unger each went 3-for-4 in the game. High had four RBI. Berry added two doubles. Parkway hosts Fort Loramie tonight for a 7 p.m. contest. Fort Recovery returns to action on Wednesday with a game at St. Henry.

Wildcats down Indians Minster improved to 8-7 with a 5-4 win over Shawnee at Hanover Street Park. Bob Inskeep's single in the bottom of the seventh scored Chris Stueve for the winning run for the Wildcats after giving up a 4-1 lead earlier in the game. Inskeep pitched the first six innings, walking seven and giving up all four runs, with two being unearned. Nick Wyen came in to pitch the seventh to pick up the win. Inskeep went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Wildcats. Wes Sherman added one hit and two RBI. Minster travels to New Bremen tonight for a 6:30 p.m. game.
