On Tuesday evening, a great blue heron stands at the edge of the water nearby. Temperatures in the area almost hit a record low by dropping to a cool 53 degrees Tuesday night. Local weather forecaster Dennis Howick reported the record low was 51 degrees in Dayton on July 27, 1911.
