Whole lot of sliding going on | ||||||||

Elementary students in New Bremen are enjoying the new $67,000 playground equipment that was purchased through fund-raisers and donations from business, industry and individuals. It was built by more than 65 volunteers, including help and equipment donated by the village. Principal Karen Smith said the giant toy, which has 10 slides and numerous climbing devices, is a healthy recess activity plus it represents a "tremendous community effort." Most important, however, is how it rates on the scale of cool, and it's a thumbs up, according to sixth-grader Drew Charlson. "I like the big slides best, but everything about the whole thing is cool," he said while playing outside on Wednesday afternoon. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
