Michael Rauh, a sophomore FFA student at Coldwater, is one of 160 students from Coldwater, Fort Recovery, Parkway and St. Henry high schools competing in a county soil judging contest Friday. The contest was held at the Coldwater-area farm of Dan and Denise Dues. Students judged three soil pits and took a written test. They identified soil layers, texture and site suitability for various purposes. Teachers plan to use the outcome of Friday's event to chose eight students from each school to compete in FFA district soil contests next week. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
