Kent Hinton of the Mercer County Solid Waste Management District reports the fifth annual hazardous waste and appliance drop-off Saturday at the fairground was a success. Over 430 cars and trucks lined up between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to dispose of old paint, household chemicals, household appliances, used oil, empty propane cylinders and even an old chemistry set. The estimated 15 tons of old appliances were hauled away by Ron Piper. He donates his profits to the local solid waste management district. Clean Harbors, a regional company with an office in Cincinnati, removed the hazardous waste. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
