| ||||||||
More than 100,000 people flocked to Minster during the weekend for the 30th annual Oktoberfest, a celebration of the community's rich German heritage. Some 1,307 runners set off Sunday morning for the popular 10K run. Gavin Thompson of Sussex, England, crosses the finish line at the front of the pack. Thompson, a member of the Eastern Michigan University running team, broke the course record of 29.17 that has stood since 1992 with a time of 29.02 minutes. He received $500 for winning the run and another $1,000 for the record-breaking finish. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
