The pre-kindergarteners brought their favorite stuffed bears to school Wednesday in celebration of the 102nd birthday of "Teddy Bear," named after former President Theodore Roosevelt. Toy companies began manufacturing teddy bears in 1902 after Roosevelt refused to shoot a small bear cub while on a hunting trip in Mississippi. He instead set the animal free.
