Working carefully, local ophthalmologist Dr. John Wilding prepares to implant a new lens into the eye of a cataract patient. Wilding learned about the Crystalens» procedure while attending a national conference in California earlier this year and began performing it locally in July. The new lens has freed patients from needing glasses for most daily activities. Wilding, who has an office in Celina, also does the surgery at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater, Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, and Valley Regional Surgery Center in Piqua.
