Celina Police Chief Dave Slusser, at right, inspects damage to one of three vehicles involved in a chain-reaction accident at 4:03 p.m. March 8 on Logan Street, east of Meyer Road. Donna J. Hart, 62, 911 N. Seventh St., Apt. 21, Celina, stopped westbound for a turn. Jean F. May, 59, 2524 Kugel Road, Celina, was in the process of slowing to a stop when her car was struck from behind by an SUV driven by Michelle R. Knapke, 34, 5191 Township Line Road, Coldwater, and pushed into the Hart car. Brooke N. Knapke, 9, 5101 Township Line Road, Coldwater, a passenger in her mother's SUV, was taken to Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater, by her father, and Hart reportedly drove herself to the same hospital, where both were treated then released. The police report indicated May was taken by ambulance but did not list the hospital. Two of the heavily damaged vehicles were towed from the scene and police cited Knapke for an assured clear distance violation. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
