A semitrailer, reportedly loaded with nearly 80,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, lays on its side after striking a "Welcome to Fort Recovery" sign near the intersection of state Route 119 and Fort Recovery-Minster Road on Tuesday. Driver Todd A. Bunch, 42, of Phoenix, Ariz., was westbound in heavy fog when he slowed but failed to negotiate a curve at 6:32 a.m. The rig struck a utility pole and sign causing the load to shift and the vehicle to overturn on the driver's side, according to Fort Recovery Police Department reports. Many of the cans were crushed contaminating the rest of the load and resulting in its transfer to an area landfill. The road remained closed for nearly four hours until the heavily damaged truck could be towed and the intersection cleaned. Bunch was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control.
