Gathering of the geese | ||||||||
| ||||||||
Ohio Department of Natural Resources officials and volunteers use nets, boats and even a helicopter to roundup Canada Geese around Grand Lake this morning. The geese, who have lost their flight feathers as part of the molting season, are banded during the roundup. The banding and subsequent count gives migration and population information on the geese. Todd Haines, district manager for the Division of Wildlife, said typically 700 birds are banded in the Grand Lake area. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
