Minster (11-5) committed two errors in the first inning allowing Coldwater (16-8) to score its first run but the Cavaliers scored three more runs in the second via a pair of extra-base hits. In the first, Tyler James was hit by a pitch and scored after a pair of Minster errors. Steve Borger led off the second inning with a triple into the right-centerfield gap and, after Cory Klenke was walked, Trevor Stromblad collected the RBI on a groundout. Klenke stole second base and moved to third on the Stromblad groundout before Brady Geier hit a liner into centerfield. Minster centerfielder Jake Luttmer tried to make a diving catch on the Geier sinking line drive, but the ball skipped past him and deep into centerfield alllowing Geier to motor around the bases for an inside-the-park home run.
