Silo fire | ||||||||

A Chickasaw firefighter peers into a silo at the Steven Homan farm, 7486 state Route 274, Celina, after dousing flames Wednesday afternoon. Homan reportedly spotted smoke coming from a chute and summoned help. Fire Chief Mark Seitz said 25 firefighters and four trucks remained on the scene two hours. He also called in the New Bremen-German Township Fire Department aerial ladder truck but it was not needed. The cause of the fire, which did not extend into stored silage, remains under investigation. Damage appears to be limited to a door. Purchase this as a quality photograph |
