| Students from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Celina proudly look at the rows of dimes laid out across the floor in the Lourdes Room at the school on Thursday. The children collected the shiny coins that will be donated to the Dimes for Haiti project the school began last year. The final tally wasn't in at press time, but students and staff estimated the children collected about $500 so far this year for the mission. Last year, students rounded up about $1,000 for the project, according to school Principal Kathy Mescher. The dime project is part of many activities the children participated in this week in observance of Catholic Schools Week, which ends today. | |
