A9 / Shelley Grieshop

A stained glass portrait of St. Sebastian, almost hidden by scaffolding, appears behind the main altar inside the Marion-area church that took his name in 1852. A patron saint of soldiers, athletes and archers, St. Sebastian was a soldier himself who was nearly killed by bow and arrow for his Christian beliefs. The Roman Emperor later ordered him beaten to death.
