| More than 200 students from Mercer and Auglaize counties take part in a fishing derby Wednesday near the East Bank shelterhouses. The Lake Improvement Association and Grand Lake St. Marys State Park invited students with physical or mental disabilities and provided lunch and use of fishing poles and bait. Volunteers helped the youngsters who caught many fish before throwing them back into Grand Lake, said Brian Miller, assistant park manager. With the sunny skies, Miller said this year's derby "had the best fishing we have had for them." | |
