NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Mercer County will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the County Commissioners Office, Central Services Building, 220 West Livingston Street, Room A201, Celina, OH.

A cost analysis study has been completed on providing dog control services in Mercer County. At the public hearing, the Board of Mercer County Commissioners will consider the following fees that are suggested by the conclusion of the study:

Adoption Fee: $45.00

Euthanasia of Licensed Dog: $300.00

Receive Licensed Dog at Dog Pound: $90.00

Receive Non-Licensed Dog at Dog Pound (Includes Dog Tag): $136.00

Receive Litter Under 3 Months at Dog Pound: $100.00

Pick-up Licensed Dog at Owner's Residence: $130.00

Pick-up Non-Licensed Dog at Owner's Residence (Includes Dog Tag): $180.00

Shelter Fee for First Day: $60.00

Shelter Fee per Day Thereafter: $15.00

Receive Dog by Non-Mercer County Resident: $250.00

This public hearing is being held to give citizens adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed fees. If fee increases are adopted by the Board of Mercer County Commissioners, the fee increases shall become effective January 1, 2027.
