CELINA - The bright lights, dazzling costumes and larger-than-life, gravity-defying acts proved the perfect 90-minute escape from everyday life for more than 100 people gathered Monday at the Mercer County Fairgrounds.

The Great Pages Circus came to Celina to perform a total of four shows Monday and Tuesday. The acts included aerial acrobats, jugglers, camels, ponies, dogs, motorcycle daredevils, a trio of clowns, contortionists, tightwire dancers and balancing performers. [More]

MINSTER- School board members approved a $170,224 agreement for the demolition of the old bleachers and press box at Memorial Stadium during Monday night's meeting.

Board members approved the guaranteed maximum proposal of $170,224 from Baumer Construction of Minster for the demolition portion of the Memorial Stadium bleacher and press box project. The last event hosted by the school with the old facilities was the Minster High School Memorial Invitational track meet on Saturday. [More]

CELINA - A team of professional carvers has fashioned a mammoth wooden sculpture of a languidly posed, friendly-faced Sasquatch at the Mercer County Fairgrounds.

Standing 30-feet tall and 18-feet wide at the main gate, the hulking yet-to-be-named homage to the legendary ape-like Bigfoot is intended to enhance Mercer County's reputation as a hub of growth and excitement. [More]
