MERCER COUNTY - Four area schools will be teaching students to make good choices, build self-esteem and respect others during upcoming Get REAL Week activities starting Wednesday.

NEW BREMEN - Voters in the New Bremen school district will decide the fate of a 1-mill permanent improvement levy at the polls May 4.

ROCKFORD - Parkway school district voters will see a 1-percent income tax renewal levy on the ballot May 4.

It marks the third renewal of this levy, which has generated about $900,000 for day-to-day operations of the district.

A $10 million civil case against the St. Marys Police Department filed in late June by a Rockford father and daughter has been dismissed in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

CELINA - Summer school organized by the Mercer County Educational Service Center will be June 1-26 and is tentatively scheduled to be at Celina Middle School.
