  Once again, the global coronavirus pandemic touched every life and every segment of society. The virus and the vaccine were, sadly, the most important stories of 2021. But there were other stories. Gels' 3-pointer lifts St. Henry to Holiday Classic championship

COLDWATER - St. Henry senior Sam Koesters got the Asset Allocation Associates Holiday Classic MVP, but it was teammate Bennett Gels who hit the biggest shot of the tournament.
After seven lead changes and three ties in the fourth quarter, Gels drained a three with 30.2 seconds left that proved to be the game-winner as St. Henry escaped with a thrilling 52-49 victory over Marion Local in the championship game of the A.A.A. Holiday Classic at the Palace on Thursday. [More]

CELINA - A fresh shipment of nearly 2,000 COVID-19 at-home rapid test kits from the Ohio Department of Health has arrived at the Mercer County District Library.
COLDWATER - School board members at an emergency meeting Thursday authorized the district treasurer to seek a tax anticipation note not to exceed $2.35 million to pay for the last phase of the roof restoration project.
WAPAKONETA - Fifty-five new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Auglaize County since Monday, according to a Thursday news release from county health department officials. The new numbers bring the county's cumulative number of cases to 5,707 since the beginning of the pandemic.
