| 06-07-03: Dog license fees to jump up in 2004 |
Mercer County commissioners have passed a resolution increasing the dog registration
fee by $2 and the kennel registration fee by $10 for 2004.
The new rates are $11 for a single dog license and $55 for a kennel
license.
Commissioner Jerry Laffin said Friday the increase in fees will
help offset the cost of running the dog licensure and dog warden programs, which are
funded through the county's general fund. A provision in Ohio law allows the commissioners
to take a small percentage of fees collected for administration.
The new rates will take effect Dec. 1, this year. |
