Today marks the first day of the 151st Mercer County Banner Fair with
opening ceremonies set for 3 p.m. Rides and games commence at 5 p.m.
Tonight
- 6 p.m. - Haflinger and draft pony show
- 6:30 p.m. - Cake, pie and produce auction in the entertainment tent
- 7 p.m. - Demo Derby and Figure 8 race at the grandstand
- 7 p.m. Doubles horseshoe tournament
- 8 p.m. - Singer Sharon Bertke in the entertainment tent
Wednesday
(Kids Day/DARE Day)
- 10 a.m. - Kiddie pedal tractor pull on blacktop in front of the
grandstand
- 12:30 p.m. - Treasure hunt in the sheep tent
- 1 p.m. - St. Rita's LifeFlight helicopter on the track infield
- 1 p.m. - Kids mini football throwing contest in the track infield
- 1-3 p.m. - Police officer with cruiser and bike at the Fraternal
Order of Police building
- 1-4 p.m. - Popular children's characters (Big Jim, Hoola the Hippo,
Teddy Trooper, McGruff, Fire Department Safety Pup and Redd E. Foxx) strolling the
fairgrounds
- 1 p.m. - Cheerleading contest at the grandstand
- 1 p.m. - Mr. Potato Head contest judging in the agriculture
department
- 2 p.m. - K-9 demonstration by the Celina Police Department
- 2 p.m. - Kids crafts at the entertainment tent
- 3 p.m. - Recplex demonstration for kids in the entertainment tent
- 5:30 p.m. - Diaper Derby at the entertainment tent
- 6 p.m. - Church service at the entertainment tent
- 6 p.m. - Pony show
- 7 p.m. - High school marching band show at the grandstand
- 7:30 p.m. - Senior carcass judging in the swine area
- 8 p.m. - Marcus and Megan Mullins, formerly known as The Little
Fiddlers, in the entertainment tent |
