| Agriculture students Nick Post from Coldwater and Caleb Cisco from St. Marys, background, measure the slope of the ground during a practice soil judging event Tuesday at the farm of Jim Will on Siegrist-Jutte Road. Roughly 126 high school students from vocational agriculture classes at Coldwater, Fort Recovery, St. Henry and Parkway and from Tri Star Career Compact’s horticulture program used the day to practice for the District Soils Judging Competition slated for next week. Students will be expected to know how to identify soil types for urban and rural applications. Different soils have different restrictions for development and agricultural purposes. |
