Construction continues on the new 146-foot-tall water tower in Celina on Summit Street. The estimated $1.8 million project includes construction of the new tower, installation of a new water line leading to the tower and tearing down the old tower located at the end of Leona and Orchard streets, said Mike Sudman, superintendent of water and water distribution for the city of Celina. Sudman said the new tower is expected to be finished in September 2004. Construction of the new tower, which will have a daily water storage capacity of 1.5 million gallons, began earlier this summer, he said.
