Katelin Smith, a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, 1100 N. Main St., Celina, poses with the flock of purple flamingos that landed on the lawn of the Rev. Douglas Meyer, 1207 Queensbury Drive. The church youth group painted the flamingos Thursday night during a lock-in, and somehow they flew away and landed on the pastor’s lawn, youth director Cindy Snyder said. A sign with the birds reads, “The flock has landed to show you that God loves you, courtesy of the St. John Youth.” A note on the back of the sign says, “The flock will stay two weeks, unless you pay $20 to move them to another location.” The money raised will go toward a youth mission trip. |
