New Bremen museum
begins to glitter with Christmas spirit for upcoming holiday activities
The Christmas spirit has arrived at the New Bremen Historical Museum
as members and curators began decorating recently for the holiday season.
Delores Stienecker, a curator, places old-fashioned ornaments on a tree
made of chicken feathers painted green. There are five large trees placed
in various places throughout the two-story museum at 122 N. Main St.,
and a variety of tabletop trees and other antique Christmas items.
A Christmas open house will be held from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 14 with local
author Katy Gilbert on hand for a book signing. Thomas Clark of Ann
Arbor, Mich., known as Dr. Snowflake for his intricately designed snowflakes
such as the one depicting “The Night before Christmas,”
will display his work at the museum from Jan. 20 through March 20. Admission
for both events is free to the public.
