Is it magic? No, it’s science. Off school for the day, about 20 youngsters explored a few science experiments Monday afternoon at St. Marys Community Public Library using common household items. Ohio State Library presenter Jay Burton, above, helped the kids prepare a balloon rocket. A drinking straw taped to the orange balloon was threaded with a string line. When Burton released the balloon it raced along the line. General assessment of the experiment? “That was just too cool,” several of the young audience yelled. |
