By From staff reports newsroom@dailystandard.com The Celina girls placed fifth overall with 53 points as Lexington won the team title with 87 points. Wapakoneta placed ninth with Defiance 10th.
Heading to the Amherst regional next week in four events will be Jenna Schmitmeyer, won finished second in the 400-meter dash, fourth in the 200 dash and as a part of the 800-meter relay team that placed third and the 1,600-meter relay that placed fourth. Lindsey Schmitmeyer will join Jenna at state as part of both relays and after placing third in the 300 hurdles. The boys placed 10th in the meet with 24 points. Fremont Ross won the district title with 102 points. The boys will be represented at regional by Grant Riesen, who placed fourth in the 800 run while Erik Chapin will also make the trip to Amherst after placing second in the high jump with an effort of 6-2. The regional meet will take place in Amhert on Thursday and Saturday. |
