By Janie Southard jsouthard@dailystandard.com Celina City Schools and Immaculate Conception Grade School have announced the daily start and end times for the coming school year, and both times are later than last year.
As part of the district budget reduction plan and specific reductions in the area of transportation, Celina City Schools will merge its intermediate building transportation route with the elementary route. "This is certainly a transportation savings to the district and it's also in the students' best interests in that they won't have to be up so early," said Celina City Schools District Superintendent Fred Wiswell, adding the early start has been a concern of many parents. Starting and ending times for the district and Immaculate Conception Grade School are as follows: ´ High school and middle school: start at 7:25 a.m. and end at 2:20 p.m.; ´ West Elementary and Celina Intermediate: start at 8:45 a.m. and end at 3:20 p.m.; ´ East Elementary: start at 9 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m.; ´ Immaculate Conception Grade School: start at 8:40 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m. |
