By Lance Mihm lmihm@dailystandard.com Sources Community Network Services Director Deb Linn told board members meeting Thursday the organization plans to apply for a $72,000 grant from the Ohio Housing Trust Fund.
The grant will be used to help house homeless people, an effort spearheaded by the Auglaize and Mercer County Continuum of Care. Sources and several other non-profit organizations that help disadvantaged people have joined the continuum. The money would be used to establish permanent housing stability for impending homeless families in the area, according to the grant application. Clients at or below 35 percent of county median income levels in each county would be eligible. Linn said the group would look at renting or purchasing units in Wapakoneta, St. Marys and Celina in the early stages of the project.
