The Bulldogs are currently in a three-way tie for fifth place with 11 points -- joining Wapakoneta and Findlay. The host Tornadoes are in first with 34 while Lexington is second with 23.

The day started with the boys taking sixth in the 3,200-meter relay missing the fourth and final regional spot by seven seconds.
Erik Chapin will make the trip to the Amherst Regional after taking second in the long jump. Chapin's hot jumping continued as he posted a top leap of 20-61/2, an inch away from the winning jump of Justin Reinbolt of Columbian.
As for qualifiers, the Celina boys will have several qualfiers for Friday. Kelly Mallory posted the fourth-fastest qualifying time in the 400, going directly to the finals. Grant Riesen qualfied with the fifth-best time in the 800 and goes on to the semifinals while Shawn Caruso moved to the semis with the 10th best time. The boys 1,600 relay team moved to the finals on Friday with the fifth best time.
The Celina girls team did not earn any points during Wednesday's three finals, but will have a small contingent moving on to Friday's finals and semifinals. Freshman Julie Snyder posted the top prelim time in the 100 hurdles while Jenna Schmitmeyer did the same in the 300 hurdles. The Runnin' Women's 800 relay team also posted the fastest qualifying time on Wednesday while the 1,600 relay was second-fastest in prelims. Lindsey Schmitmeyer earned a trip to the finals in the 400 with the fifth-best time in prelims.  The semifinals and finals of the running events along with the completion of the field events will take place on Friday.
Tiger girls open postseason
The Versailles girls track team opened up the 2005 track postseason with some strong showings at the Division III district at Milton-Union High School on Wednesday.
The Tigers are currently fifth in the team standings with 10 points after the first day.
All 10 points came from the 3,200-meter relay team winning with a time of 10:01.39, which also puts the team in the regionals next week.
Among the qualifiers for Friday's semifinals and finals, Jessica Schulte qualfied for the semis in both hurdle events. Kylie Davis qualified for the 100 semis. In the 400, Kaila Barga and Alison Phlipot qualified for the finals. Both Sarah Hemmelgarn and Julia Black qualified for the finals in the 200. Versailles also qualified all three relays for Friday.
The Versailles boys are in Division II and will take part in the district today at Milton-Union. The Coldwater and St. Marys boys and girls teams will also take part. The Division II finals for races will be Saturday.
