Chad Timmerman continued to be the workhorse, just like last year, on the ground, carrying the ball 27 times for 71 yards and one touchdown.
Quarterback Adam Wenning was 6-for-11 with one interception and threw for 170 yards. Wenning found favorite receiver Craig Schwieterman just twice, but one went for a 40-yard touchdown as Schwieterman finished with 81 yards receiving. Chris Guggenbiller also had a one-handed grab that went for a 36-yard touchdown reception while tight end Kirk Link had two catches for 45 yards. The Cougar defense shut down the Mustang running game, holding them to just four yards on 24 carries while Cougar defenders recorded 11 sacks on the day.
