FORT RECOVERY -- School board members held two executive sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in a preliminary search for a new treasurer.
Current Treasurer Dennis Ontrop will retire at the end of the calendar year after 27 years of service.
Superintendent David Riel referred the newspaper to the Ohio School Board Association to get the names of the applicants, which are public record according to Ohio's Sunshine Laws.
The following people applied for the position: Clyde W. Bellinger of Coldwater, who is the finance director for the village of Coldwater; Angela Joy Will and Leslie J. Fenik, both of Fort Recovery; Herbert W. Muhlenkamp of Celina; Linda Brockman of Milford; Kelly Renee Buehler of Anna; Connie Enders of Spanawa, Wash.; Daniel E. Hartzell of Columbus; Lori R. Koch of Vandalia; Cheryl Kuhn of Napoleon; Dale A. Ogg of Ashley; Steven M. Reier of Portland, Ind.; and Steven Robert Smith of Springboro.
Ontrop's current base salary is $54,455 a year, plus incentives for longevity and experience. Board members hope to have someone hired by Oct. 1, according to Ontrop. |
