Coldwater Police detective Dave Dues and Lt. Bill Westgerdes from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office perform one final check of confiscated drugs and assorted paraphernalia before destroying the lot last week during a fire at Lefeld Implement near Coldwater. The sheriff's office periodically destroys evidence no longer needed while the Coldwater department cleaned its evidence room by disposing of items dating back to 1996.
