Floyd Pearson Floyd Eugene "Slats" Pearson, 73, 316 E. North St., Coldwater, died May 14, 2004, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater. He was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Fort Recovery to Abel and Ethyl Coats Pearson. On Nov. 29, 1958, he married the former Barbara Huelskamp, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dennis (Patricia) of Tiffin; a daughter, Denise Day, Celina; a brother, Paul (Charlene) of Fort Recovery; a sister-in-law, Donna Gene of Fort Recovery; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. Deceased are a brother, Elvan, and a sister, Emma Mae. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 470, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 3025, both in Coldwater. He retired in 1980 from Avco New Idea, Coldwater, worked construction most of his life and owned Pearson Finishing. Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery. Calling is 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
