James Brown Sr. James Brown Sr., 69, 320 N. Spruce St., St. Marys, died at 8:04 p.m. June 16, 2004, at his home. He was born May 17, 1935, in Knott County, Ky., to Henry and Margaret Bradley Brown. On May 23, 1964, he married Wanda Keirsey who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James L. (Donna) of Trenton, N.J., and James Jr. (Joan) of Greenville; a daughter, Karen (Scott) Brown Walton, Wapakoneta; a brother, Sherman, and a sister, Dorothy Hicks, both of Kentucky; and a granddaughter. Deceased are seven brothers, Henry, Chester, Hillard, Joseph, Jack, Evan and Ervin, and four sisters, Nerva, Liberty, Edna and Marie. A retired truck driver, he had worked at Riggs Express and John Cheeseman Trucking before becoming a security guard at Airstream Manufacturing, Jackson Center. He was a member of Amanda Baptist Back to Christ Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Rita A. Homan, 75, 1731 Rolfes Road, Maria Stein, died at 12:50 a.m. today, June 18, 2004, at her home. She was born April 17, 1929, in Cassella, to William and Rose Schemmel Tumbusch. On May 16, 1953, she married Othmar J. Homan who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mike (Nancy) and Bill, all of Maria Stein; two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Bruns, Fort Recovery, and Patsy (Rob) Schwieterman, St. Henry; three brothers, Ralph (Mary) Tumbusch, St. Henry, Wilfred (Betty) Tumbusch, North Star, and Eugene (Olive) Tumbusch, New Bremen; three sisters, Mary Catherine (Vic) Hess, Coldwater, Bertha Heitbrink, Maria Stein, and Betty (Ron) Hilgefort, Montezuma; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A brother, Jerome, died in infancy. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Catholic Church and St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality, both of Maria Stein. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Emil Labbe officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Marjorie Oehrtman, 81, formerly of County Road 66A, St. Marys, died at 5:20 a.m. June 17, 2004, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 9, 1922, in St. Marys, to Ernest and Pearl (Hale) Burkhart. On June 9, 1945, she married Arthur Oehrtman who is deceased. Surviving are two sons, Terry (Sue) of Lancaster and Timothy (Elaine) of St. Marys; a brother, Ernest Burkhart Jr., Springboro; a sister-in-law, Naomi Oehrtman, Kettering. She formerly worked at the McBroom school cafeteria and Gill's Gifts, both of St. Marys. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a graduate of Memorial High School, also of St. Marys. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at the church with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling is 9:30-11 a.m. Monday at the church. Benjamin J. Ramsey, 32, 106 W. Mill St., Mendon, died June 15, 2004, at his residence, the victim of an apparent suicide. He was born March 30, 1972, in St. Marys as Jevin Allen Cummins, to Arlene Yvonne Cummins, who is deceased. He was adopted by Walter and Sue Ramsey, who survive in Richland County. On Feb. 5, 2004, he married Monnie Jackson, who survives. Other survivors are four daughters, Faith Creley and Chelsey, Alauna and Emma Ramsey; a son, Jevin Ramsey; two stepsons, Michael Williams and Trenton Reed; two biological sisters, Kathy L. (Larry) Huston and Jennifer L. Shaffer, all of St. Marys; an adoptive sister, Andria Ramsey, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; grandparents Emerson and Marjorie Burnfield, Buckland, and Mary Ramsey, St. Marys. He was self-employed with his business, Ramsey Welding & Steel, as a subcontractor. Private funeral services will be held today at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina. Margaret Carpenter
